Stop! If tired!
This lesson that I learned 3 weeks ago, took me to a new step in my life, that if I’m tired, I will not anything that have efforts. In my way back to United States. And because of my furniture and my past apartment, I went to Orlando as my first destination from Kuwait. And because of my friends who are there. So, it was easy for me to get a car from them to get to Mobile. So, I borrowed my friend’s car for one week, to be returned in a week, and that is because he will be in Orlando after one week from the time that I borrowed it from him.
After my orientation day and adding classes to my schedule as a freshman in University of South Alabama. I moved on to Orlando to pick him up from Orlando international airport. I was so tired from a lack of sleeping the day before, and after the hard work the all students does in the orientation day.
In the middle of the way, we stopped at a rest area. Besides, I was with my roommate. And because I love driving and I was so tired, I didn’t let my roommate continue driving. After the rest we took. We kept moving toward Orlando so I can catch his flight and I didn’t want to be late on him.
Suddenly, I saw a trailer headlights facing me, there was no time to press the brakes. The trailer hits me in the right side of the front bumper. After that, the car goes to the back from the hit. When it was going to the back, I saw the headlights of the trailer flipping to the left. I couldn’t see the whole trailer, it was dark! My car stopped in the grass in the left side of the road. The trailer flipped in the right side of the road.
When the car stopped I got out of the car, I couldn’t able to stand! And my roommate either, from the shocking moment. And with my good luck in that time. One of my friends from Mobile was in the same road heading to Orlando. He stopped when he saw us. I went to trailer with another trailer driver that she stopped when she saw the crack. The trailer that hit me was flipped as I said before, and he was carrying containers behind him on of the container flipped two times.
We called 911, the thing that surprised me is that the emergency came in just 3 minutes, which was good. The drivers came out of the trailer by the firemen help. I was shocked by him, he was asking about as if we were injured or anything happened to us. When I was looking to the headlights if that trailer, it was like a 3D movie. I was shocked and thinking what would happened if the trailer hit me in the face of the car! That would a disaster.
At the end, I realized that bad moments move very slowly, and I made a promise with myself that I don’t use others stuff if it was so valuable. I asked myself, what if I let my roommate to drive the car. He slept well last night and he continued to Orlando, which would be better!
