Homework 4 1. The area of a triangle is related to its base and height. Your task in

this assignment is to write, and then explain, a rule or formula to describe this relationship.

a. Use an In-Out table like the one shown below to organize information

about these triangles. Each row of the table should represent one of the triangles. In each row give the base, height, and area. Then create two more triangles of your own and enter the base, height and area for each of them.

b. Write a formula for this table, expressing the area as a function of the

base and height. You may already know this formula, but make sure the formula you give fits each line of the table.

c. Give a geometric explanation for your formula. That is explain why

the formula makes sense in terms of the picture on the geoboard.
