Date

The fall of Roman Empire was a lengthy process thought to have occurred between 234 BC - 480 BC. The specific dates might differ because historians tend to accounts for physical events that contributed to its fall. An exploration of the fall of Roman Empire indicates that several events among them political, social and environmental were critical in removing it from power. Although several events and occurrences have been recorded, proposed and associated with its fall, this paper focuses on the contribution of Christianity to as standalone event that contributed to the fall of Roman Empire.

The choice of this topic is dependent of the several events that led to the fall of the Empire. Christianity played a special role in this event. Perhaps Christianity might have made the Empire stronger but that did not happen. Historians agree unanimously that the Religious development in Rome before 500 BC had great conflict with the traditions. Christianity continued to grow as it pushed traditions away eventually coming to rule. Since rulers relied so much on traditions and cultural believes, the large and growing Christianity took over and Imperial leaders did not have efficient opportunity. A part from internal conflicts, Christianity is thought to have welcomed the foreign rulers who had a predetermined mind of concurring the rulers they perceived weak. This topic will highlight fully and clearly the whether Christianity significantly contributed to fall of Roman Empire.

Investigation of this paper is important to my understanding of history because picking and analyzing an underlying historical issue defines is the first approach to historical writing. For example, there are many underlying factors that have been thought to contribute to the Fall of Roman Empire. I did not choose the other factors and decided to dwell on Christianity because I believe that Christianity could have made the emperor stronger as opposed to what its real contributions. Investigating historical issues does not give one precise answers. Scholars try show or demonstrate their understanding about the issue through the use of available evidences and records. Perhaps this analysis also gives me an opportunity to display my understanding and skills to writing a history argument.
