As the article mentioned, the biggest challenge is recognizing a problem before it causes significant problems. I would approach a problem in a similar fashion as LeMessurier did in the article. I would be suspicious of inconsistencies in my organization and I would definitely investigate them with due diligence. Attention to details is important to me. In my opinion, details reveal the hidden and the unknown. I would definitely pay attention to people that work in an area when they tell me that there are things that are behaving irregularly. I would either initiate an investigation through a third party or investigate it myself just to put my mind at ease.
I believe I already have strong Intellectual Curiosity. I constantly practice it by inquiring and learning about processes in my organization that I don’t need to know. I do that to satisfy my desire to learn and know.
A good way to practice Systemic Thinking is asking how my job fits and affects the organization as a whole from the simplest to the most complex aspect. This type of thinking allows me to see how my actions affect my organization as a whole.
I think Healthy Paranoia is the reason why good leaders are as successful as they are. It drives an individual to pay close attention to detail and focus immensely on inter working of the organization. This focus and attention to detail allows a leader to anticipate problems before they occur. I think I already captured my Healthy Paranoia by focusing on details in my career and in my education. I try to capture every possible point in my education to secure a high grade. That behavior allowed me to sustain high grades even when unexpected circumstances made me lose points.
