Research Paper

Objective: Think critically to formulate and defend a thesis statement related to a field of study relevant to this course. You should not simply discuss material already covered in the course. Your paper should introduce new material that is still relevant to the course.

Task: Write a 5-7 page paper defending a thesis statement related to a topic covered in this course, using a minimum of 4 properly cited scholarly references. Your paper must be properly formatted according to APA citation guidelines.

In this paper, you should:

1. Include a solid and meaningful introduction

2. Introduce a thesis statement relevant to this course

3. Use a minimum of 4 scholarly references (e.g., articles from peer reviewed journals accessed via PsycInfo) to discuss and defend your thesis statement. You may cite your textbook; however it will NOT count toward the minimum of 4 scholarly references.

4. Thoroughly discuss thesis statement, demonstrating your scholastic ability.

5. Include a conclusion highlighting the main points of your paper.

6. Have clear writing indicative of a collegiate level of education. You should use proper spelling and grammar, and follow the formatting guidelines outlined in the syllabus. Your paper should give the impression that you proofread your work prior to submitting it.

Expectations: Your writing should be formal and indicative of your collegiate level of study. Your paper should follow a clear line of logic, be grammatically correct, and give the impression of forethought and critical thinking.
