ADMG 201 Group Project

Introduction to Business: From Theory to Practice

Scenario: Your group will be provided with a recent article from Bloomberg BusinessWeek. Your group’s task will be to present the article to your fellow students and describe how it is relevant to our course.

Your team is to prepare a 10 minute report to the rest of the class covering the following issues:

1. A brief overview of the article including the topic or company being discussed.

2. Please address how this article relates to the various chapters that we have discussed in our book. In other words, does this article contain references to ethics, social responsibility, profits, international business, marketing, etc. (Hint: There will most likely be more than one area in each article.)

3. How does your group feel about the questions/issues raised in the article? Are you in agreement or not? Explain your answers.

You will participate with your group in the development of the team’s response to the assigned questions. The group presentations will be presented to the whole class. All team members are to participate in the oral presentation (actual length of individual speaking assignments is up to the group itself). The presentation should be between 10 minutes in duration (points will be deducted for presentations going over or under the assigned time limit). All presentations are to be professional in style and approach. The use of visual aids (i.e. PowerPoint) is highly recommended.

This assignment is due on the 10th and 12th of November.

If the members of a team feel that one member is either not contributing or acting to the detriment of the team, this should be raised with the Professor as soon as possible. In extreme cases a team member will be ‘fired’ from the team and be required to complete the project individually.

Group Participation / Peer Evaluation

Peer evaluation: A peer evaluation form will be filled out by each team member. The total project score may be affected by the combined score of the peer evaluation. Please refer to the grade posting for your final score.
