02.04 Stock Table
Stock tables present data regarding public companies and the status of their trades. You can find stock market data, updated on a daily basis at sites such as CNN Money and Yahoo Finance. Common abbreviations are used to save space both in print and online. Below, you will find descriptions to help you read the information in a stock table.
| Abbreviation | Item | Description |

| 52W high and 52W low | 52-Week High and Low | Respectively, the highest and lowest prices the stock was traded for within the last 52-week period. |
| Stock | Company Name and Type of Stock | Gives the company name and if it is preferred stock there will be symbols after the name. Otherwise it is common stock. |
| Ticker | Ticker Symbol | This is a unique abbreviation for the company. It can be used in online searches to find current stock information. |
| Div | Dividend Per Share | This is the annual dividend payout per share. So if you own 100 shares of a stock that has a div of $1.00, you will receive a $100 dividend payment for the year. |
| Yield % | Dividend Yield | This is the percentage return on the dividend. It is calculated as the annual dividends per share divided by the price per share. |
| P/E | Price to Earnings Ratio | A calculation of the current stock price divided by the earnings per share, usually over the last year. |
| Vol 00s | Trading Volume | This is the total number of shares traded for the day, by the hundreds. |
| High and Low | Day High and Low | The maximum and minimum prices people have traded the stock for within the previous day. |
| Close | Last Trading Price | This is the last price that the stock was traded for when the market closed for the day. If the stock's listing is in bold-faced type that means the close differs from the previous day's close by more than five percent.The close is the last trading price recorded when the market closed on the day. |
| Net chg | Net Change | This is the change from the previous day's close in terms of dollars. So if your stock closed at four dollars on Wednesday and then five dollars on Thursday, the Net chg for Thursday would read +1.00. |
