Reflecting Paper on Thomas Jefferson
From the being I didn’t really know that much about Thomas Jefferson. He seemed to me that he was a man that was for slavery. But when I took this class I learned that he was very against the whole idea of slavery and that is something that I will take with me for the rest of my life. His very radical ideas of the time were something that I least expected. From what I remember on his views about slavery is that they thought that it was going to eventually destroy the American Nation because it totally would go against the laws of nature, which America was founded on.
This overall seemed very important to me about Thomas Jefferson. Mainly because I thought that back in the day that there were not any Founding Fathers that really cared about liberating the slaves. We can still see that today even though we don’t have slavery anymore that there are still lots of issues regarding civil rights movements, which I think Thomas Jefferson was aware might happen if slavery had continued which it did even though he warned people of the backlash of it.
