1. Come up with a list of project stakeholders. The following will provide a basis for your analysis.
· Client
· Customer
· Other Influencers
· ?
2. Complete the analysis:
· Determine each stakeholder’s interest in the project. For example, you could represent a positive interest with (+1), a negative interest with (-1), or neutral interest with (0).
· Define each stakeholder’s degree of influence. Use a scale of 0 (no influence) to 5 (high influence).
· Describe any potential conflicts with other stakeholders
· Develop a metaphor for each stakeholder to reflect his or her role in the project (e.g., project champion, leader, ally, etc.).
· Identify an objective for each stakeholder that will make best use of the stakeholder if he or she has a positive interest in the project’s outcome, help to overcome any potential conflicts with other stakeholders, or gain the acceptance or approval of any stakeholders who may have a negative interest in the project’s success.
· Develop a strategy that outlines how each stakeholder may be involved in the project. This should focus on attaining the objective you set for each stakeholder.
Part 2
Develop the structure and map of your site. Create a document that shows the overall mapping of the site, along with the links, general design, color scheme, navigation, etc. so that your client can have a good idea of what the functionality of the completed site will be.
You can use a graphics tool, word processor, Excel, or free hand drawing. Create a page layout, placement of text, page names, etc. to map out your site. You will review this with your client, so make it neat and easy to understand. Map the links on your site, include the site navigation, etc. An easy way is to create the clone or template page first, make copies of that, then fill in the specific page details.
