Abstract

The topic I am going to discuss in my paper is non-Islamic practices regarding women sexuality. For example , human trafficking, female genital mutilation, how women have to prove their virginity through hymen, temporary marriage, and child marriage. These are examples of non-Islamic practices that are happening in certain Muslim countries, but also these practices can be done throughout non-Muslims as well. For example female genital mutilation is known to be an African problem doesn’t matter of what religious background they come from. I would like to come to conclusion that many of these occurring tragic events are happening through the name of Islam, and many people are not aware that it has little to nothing to do with the religious practice itself. Also, I am going to bring up examples of women and children that have actually came out and talked about how they have been through this. I will discuss debates people have had and interviews these women and children have been on stating that this is not an Islamic problem, it’s a problem of certain individuals.
