URBS 310: Sustainable Growth and Development of
Cities
Reaction Papers (10%): Students will be required to write one paper that document reactions following a field trip. All reaction papers should be 2 double spaced pages (12pt
font). I will grade all Reaction papers based on your authentic reaction and the quality of your responses to the questions posed below. I expect students to also draw on class
readings and discussions. A rubric that details how each assignment will be graded is available below.

Time: Noon – 10pm; crowded 6pm-10pm
Place: The Downtown Art Walk is located mainly in the Historic Core between 4th and 7th and Spring and Main Streets. However, the galleries and restaurants spread
beyond to the Fashion District, South Park and the Financial District. Please check the website for the most recent map that includes the surrounding districts. The Art Walk
Lounge is located at 634 S. Spring St. at the MALDEF building. Directions: From the San Fernando Valley
Take the 101 Freeway East and merge onto the 101 South. At the 110 S (Harbor
Freeway), merge right. Stay on the left side and exit on the 5th/6th Street exits. Merge onto 6th street and follow the curve to the left. On Main Street turn left and continue a few blocks to find parking at Downtown Artwalk.
Take the 118 Freeway East and merge South on to the 5. Fork right onto the 170
Freeway South, which will turn into the 101. At the 110 S (Harbor Freeway), merge right. Stay on the left side and exit on the 5th/6th Street exits. Merge onto 6th street
and follow the curve to the left. On Main Street turn left and continue a few blocks to find parking at Downtown Artwalk.
