In the Module 1 SLP, we have collected the data:

10, 15, 22, 18, 13, 10, 23, 20, 11, 14.

The mean was This means that the average number of emails received per day was 14.6.

To find the median, we need to sort the data entries from the smallest to biggest: 10, 10, 10, 11, 13, 14, 15, 18, 22, 23. Hence, the median of the data is (13+14)/2=13.5. About 50% of days the number of emails received was less than 13.5, and about 50% of days the number of emails received was more than 13.5.

As the value "10" occurs most frequently in the data, the mode of the data was 10.

The mean and median were greater than what I would expect, as these days we use cell-phones very often, and therefore, we would not send or receive too many emails each day. As the mean was 14.6 and median was 13.5, and they are very close, we would say the mean most accurately describes the variable we are looking at.  Finally, we draw a box plot using the given data:
