case study report
2) The Case of Troy Gregg: Troy Gregg and Floyd Allen were hitchhiking when they were picked up by Fred Simmons and Bob Moore. Simmons and Moore left the car at a rest stop. According to the testimony of Allen, Gregg said that they were going to rob Simmons and Moore. He fired at them when they came back to the car, then shot each of them in the head, robbed them, and finally drove away with Allen. Gregg first admitted that Allen’s account was accurate, but later denied it. Gregg’s story was that Simmons had attacked him and that he killed the two men in self-defense. The jury found Gregg guilty of two counts of murder, and determined that the murders were committed for the purpose of robbery. Should Gregg be given the death sentence or not?
