Essay Outline

Introduction

Start with a statement that draws attention to the reader, preferably a question, fact, or quotation; “what is Education?” Alternatively, “getting good grades does not mean you are educated”. Show the significance of the topic to the reader and yourself. Also, show the benefits of being in school and being educated and then outline the differences. Talk of the principal characters in your narrative and the time of the event. State the Thesis; which should create an understanding of the whole experience in the story.

Body

Provide background information; the people present and the venue (physical and personality characteristics) and how they reacted. Provide a detailed experience of how you felt at that moment due to your pride and the humbling moment. Use the five senses (smells, texture, tastes, sights, and sounds) to give a better description. Talk of how you dealt with the situation that is, did you solve it or not? What did you do after that? Talk of the disappointment that read on your sister’s face in case you did not. Provide your education background and the many awards you got for passing and the encouragements. Talk of the pride you had due to your success. Describe the real meaning of education and how schooling does not prove one is educated and give cited examples where applicable. You can also talk of the society and the beliefs towards education.

Conclusion

Describe how that moment changed your life and perspectives towards education and schooling. See below for a sample outline/thesis.
