Executive Summary. Opening a Pizza Hut Lunch truck is a good business opportunity. In order to get started one would research the trends related to make sure that the best option has been reached. The Pizza Hut lunch truck will include all fresh ingredients purchased weekly for the different dishes offered. There will also be friendly service and a clean environment. The Pizza Hut food truck has a contract with Verizon’s Welcome Center where there are 250 employees. Every day Monday to Friday at 12pm and 2pm the truck will be servicing Verizon’s employees. For the first week a discount to buy one meal receives another of equal or lesser value for free so that people can eat together. Verizon has provided picnic benches outside for people to enjoy their food. There is also a popular all night laundry mat called The Wishy Washy which a contract has been signed with where the truck will sit on busy days and provide a healthy fresh meal to customers while they are washing clothes. Let’s start by discussing the trends and how they tie into the lunch truck being a successful business venture.
The consumer's interest in getting a quality product quickly and at a fair price. A 2012 National Restaurant Association's forecast shows that food trucks regularly outperform the traditional and fast-food restaurants in these three areas (Intuit, 2012).
The growth of the Pizza Hut Restaurants became eminent. After a couple of years this kind of business had grown a great deal. Pizza Hut itself is a trend and a great reason for opening a lunch truck business with their name on it.
The delivery of the Pizza huts to homes is also coming up in the worldwide market. This kind of the market came up due to the reason of market becoming highly competitive. At present Pizza Hut has grown to be the largest chain of pizza. The trend continues to grow increasing in quality and being affordable at a price that is fair. Now what a better way to bring Pizza Hut to our neighborhood then through a lunch truck which carries all of our favorite meals and will even deliver on the hours which it is not servicing Verizon’s Welcome Center and The Wishy Washy Laundry Mat. This will allow for the business to build a good rapport within the neighborhood. Between Pizza Hut’s good name and the recent successes of lunch trucks this should really take off.
Many consumers are looking for cuisine made from fresh and local ingredients. Food trucks have taken this trend to heart in order to differentiate themselves. (Intuit, 2012) Customers like for their products to come from local areas and to eat fresh products. This is why Pizza hut food truck has taken this into consideration of the likings from their customers. Pizza hut food truck likes to purchase all their food fresh from the venders like the lettuce, tomatoes, peppers, etc. They are also trying to keep their products bought from local venders so that we can support our community. Another reason why Pizza hut food vender likes to purchase their fresh ingredients from local venders is because it promotes “a friendly and fresh connection, local means green, preserving character, crop diversity and quality, and boost the local economy.” (Whole Foods Market IP, 2014)
People are always on the go trying to get a quick fix for their lunch, dinner or even a snack. They also do not like to eat processed foods all of the time from the vendor trucks. This is why Pizza hut food truck has come up with a new menu to offer new types of foods not just pizza, pasta, and wings to our customers. This food truck will offer to the customer’s fresh salads using their pizza crust shaped into a bowl or a salad alone. So the customers can still have the famous bread crust used on their pizza with or without the stuffed cheese crust added with their choice of fresh salad. Another food added is a fresh vegetable bowl with their choice from broccoli, peppers, carrots, cauliflower, etc. It will come with their choice of bread sticks and dipping sauce.
Another growing trend that is drawing consumers to food trucks is the interest in buying from and supporting local businesses, especially the smaller, neighborhood merchants such as food trucks (Intuit, 2012). A growing trend that is drawing consumers to food trucks is the interest in buying from and supporting local businesses, especially the smaller, neighborhood merchants. Most gourmet food trucks use fresh, local food to differentiate themselves from traditional quick-serve, take out and fast food (Intuit, 2012). Fresh food is all the craze today, companies use the slogan “fresh never frozen” in advertisements. Fresh food is a huge selling point for food trucks; customers can taste a difference between fresh and frozen food. Fresh food can also help the food truck owners by putting their product ahead of their completion. If they are using fresh food and a competitor is using frozen food the customer can taste the difference and no longer go to the competitor.
The consumer's desire for a higher quality meal during a time crunch such as the lunch hour. Businesses such as Chipotle are known for meeting this particular trend and, like Chipotle, the food trucks providing high-end and all-natural ingredients are fitting quite well into the same niche (Intuit, 2014). When it comes to fast food, there is more of a desire for the food to be higher quality. No one wants cardboard burgers, any more. People are looking for a meal that they can have five star cuisines for a two star price, while they are able to fulfill their time constraints. This is evident today, especially in the food truck scene. Most food trucks are expected to serve top quality food, which people want to be able to eat during their 30 minute to one hour lunch break.
When it comes to customers, they want to be able to experience gourmet food without a gourmet price tag (Jackson, 2014). The newer generation of food trucks and food truck owners are the reason that this expectation is held (Corpos, 2013). They have chosen to stop making the prepped food like prior food carts, which were commonly referred to as the roach coaches did (Corpos, 2013).
Just like with restaurants there is a lot of competition. The ones that succeed have to make their presence known. Some of the more successful ones include Rito Loco in Washington, DC, Southern Mac and Cheese in Chicago, and Border Grill in Los Angeles, which were all among the Top 25 Coolest Food Trucks in Forbes Magazine (Strauss, 2013). By offering high quality foods that offer a low price and speedy service, these trucks have been able to continue to build up their own business, along with the industry growing for all food trucks. Food trucks offer a quick bite, but they also offer a more worldly food experience at a price everyone can afford. One way to offer the higher quality of food items is to offer locally grown meats and produce, like Hot Plate Lunch from Fairfield, California does (Corpos, 2013).
Conclusion. In conclusion the Pizza Hut Lunch truck will be a successful business because of the following trends fresh food, affordable prices, convenient location, a clean environment, and the most important the lunch truck in and of itself. The lunch truck provides excellent fresh food, great service, and it is very popular among people working 9-5. Verizon and The Wishy Washy Laundry Mat is very excited about doing business with Pizza Hut Express Lunch truck and the business cannot wait to bring quality product and service to their location.
