You are to complete the project below with up to 3 of your classmates. This project will count as 3 homework grades, so be vigilant in completing the assignment.
Specifications
You are to design an active bandpass filter that meets the following specifications:
1. center frequency, fc, 50 kHz
2. bandwidth of 10 kHz
3. passband gain 7
Methodology
• Complete a pencil and paper design.
• Simulate the design in Multisim.
• Thoroughly simulate per the recommendations below.
• Build and test your design on the breadboard.
• Record data to verify your design.
• Write up your findings, demonstrate the design to me and obtain my signature before the deadline.
• Submit the documentation at the BlackBoard submission point before the deadline.
Recommendations
• When building the real circuit you will not have the calculated component values. Remember your parallel and serial combinations.
• Test your design by doing a frequency sweep to determine if it is meeting specs.
• As always, get an early start on this project. If you delay a week it is unlikely that you will complete the design and demonstration.
• Try to move quickly from the pencil and paper stage to the simulation stage as you will solve most of your problems there.
• Do not complicate matters by Googl’ing “bandpass filter that I can use in Dr. Robin- son’s EENG 3305 class”. The design is in the textbook; you simply need to analyze the given design and compute the appropriate components.
• Did I mention get started early? You will need time to ask questions for things that might not be clear.
