TEAM WORK EFFECTIVENESS AND MANAGERS ROLES IN ORGANIZATIONS
Abstract
It consists of tangible and intangible results to an organization and its stakeholders. It also comprises the short-term results which are immediately visible, and the long-term effects which can be known or perceived after allowing for the due ‘gestation period’. A noteworthy point in this context is that: the intangibles lead to the tangibles, and the subjective aspects (measures / results) of leadership determine the objective deliverables of an organization. Therefore, ‘Spiritual Leadership’ focuses more on the inner development of the subjects (the leaders and the led). Its basic premise is that : development of ‘inner core’ is crucial for effectiveness within (i.e. Self-realization) and effectiveness without (i.e. attainment of organizational objectives).
Nowadays there is a great interest in studying organizational teams. This interest is concerned with the increasing use of teams in companies.
The use of teams has expanded dramatically in response to competitive challenges and organizational needs of flexibility and adaptation.
Understanding effectiveness is a key issue in team research, in this sense several models have been developed with an objective to identifying multiple factors of effectiveness and their relationship with success (kirkman el al ,2001).given this purpose , researches have had problems in delineating the boundaries of team effectiveness and operationalizing this construct.
