While the people of Finko were busy going about their day’s work, the government also was busy building a new device. Touted as the first of its kind, it was supposed to have power over man and nature all in equal measure, the Arch was not a wild aspersion, it was real. The mad man that ruled Finko with an iron fist had waited for so long and was determined to see the arch fully operational. The people never understood its true nature of work. But the fact that it was able to manipulate weather was a good enough reason for them. In any case, it is all that the government needed them to hear.
Despite the continued subdual of the people of Finko, one man, The Blogger, proved to be a threat to the status quo. He was not blinded by the actions of the government and saw through all their lies and cover-ups. As a blogger, his articles found an ear in the masses who started whispering behind the back of their authoritarian ruler. While reports about him reached the ruler, he sent out his sycophants to do his bidding for him and have him silenced for good. Prison was not enough, the blog posts emerged daily even while he was incarcerated. The dictator was furious. He could not understand how that would happen. The Threat to his rule was real and he was not ready to have one man destroy it all. The Arch had to work like it had done before.
The mad ruler called on his scientists and gave them the order. The Arch had to be able to control any individual including The Blogger. Tests were ran on him and nothing unusual about him. Among them was the ruler’s personal doctor. He was well known for his experiments on human beings that bore no respect for the sanctity of life or humanity. He suggested creating a program to run on the arch based on The Blogger’s DNA. The other scientist were shocked but had no option but to obey. In any case, their refusal would lead to even more unthinkable consequences. They set out to work under the stern eye of the ruler’s doctors and guards.
On the night the final round of tests were done, the miracle happened again. The Blogger had posted a message on his blog once again in spite of being locked in a cell. However, the video surveillance showed something else, while The Blogger slept, he kept talking as if addressing someone. His Body was there, but the mind clearly and his senses were not in the vicinity. Every night he would get into the trance and stay for hours. The guards thought it was normal but only he knew what would happen as his spirit possessed another. And that night he took over the ruler’s scientist. The scientist oblivious of what was happening altered the program that would be used on the arch to control the people’s mind. The bug he planted would render the machine useless if anyone tried to use it for anything other than its original function of weather control. The ruler would soon know that his program was not on the right track and summon his trusted doctor. Meanwhile, The Blogger publishes his messages from the prison, freely though not free.
