Comprehensive Case Analysis
The comprehensive case analysis will involve evaluating a company’s resource strengths and weaknesses. Each team will be assigned a case within a different industry and be responsible for identifying strategic issues that need to be addressed, evaluating strategic alternatives, and formulating course of actions. In addition, students will develop recommendations and provide data to support them. Students should consult the guidelines on how to prepare a written case analysis, which can be found by clicking on the link under Case Analysis on the course home page and in this section.
The comprehensive case analysis will be completed over weeks 3-7 in five parts. Each part is worth 10 points. Each part will be submitted to the instructor for critique and feedback. Submissions may be modified before inclusion in the final case analysis report. Due dates will coincide with the syllabus schedule.
Submission Criteria for Parts I – IV:
1. Font Size (12 point, New Times Roman) and all text double-spaced
2. Title Page (Correct APA format with headers)
3. The body of the deliverable must include the proper level one headings which are the assignments main points and correct APA in-text citations if you are citing sources of information. (All text is Doubled- Spaced)
It will not be necessary to include an introduction and conclusion in these assignments- Parts I – IV
4. Reference page (Sources should be from reputable, peer reviewed (scholarly) journals and/or books, alphabetized, and APA format)
5. Paper length will vary based on the content and research conducted.
The APA paper template for Comp Case Analysis Parts provided in Doc Sharing is required to be used for these assignments.

Assignment: Comprehensive Case Analysis: Computation of Financial Ratios and Analysis of Financial Performance-
Compute financial ratios on the data provided in the case. Conduct an analysis of the company’s financial performance and determine if the company’s strategy is producing satisfactory results. Compare company’s financial performance with their competitors-if possible.
Deliverables - Provide the following main points in your paper:
1. Provide an analysis of the company financial stability.
2. Compute the following financial ratios on the firm’s profitability, liquidity, leverage, rate of return, and its capital structure to determine financial stability:
a. Profitability Ratios
-Gross profit margin
-Operating profit margin
-Net profit margin
-Return on total Assets
-Return on stockholder's equity
b. Liquidity Ratios
-Current ratio
-Working capital
c. Leverage Ratios
-Debt to assets
-Long-term debt to capital
d. Activity Ratios
-Inventory turnover
-Average collection period
3. Using the financial diagnosis from the ratio calculations decide if the firm has marketing, production, managerial competence, and other factors underlying the organization's strategic successes and failures.
4. Using the financial diagnosis from the ratio decide whether the company has valuable resource strengths and strategic competencies
5. Using the financial diagnosis from the ratio calculations defend if the company’s competitive position is getting weaker or stronger based on the financial analysis.
6. Compare the company’s financial performance with competitors in their industry.
NOTE: You do not have to calculate financial ratios for the competition.
