Screencast Presentation – Creation & Uploading Instructions

Use these resources and instructions for creating a screencast of a PowerPoint presentation and uploading the appropriate URL link into the online classroom:

· Some useful sites for PowerPoint beginners:

· MS Office – Basic Tasks in PowerPoint 2010

· Video tutorial on how to create a basic PowerPoint presentation

· To add video to your PowerPoint presentation:

· Video tutorial on how to add video to your presentation

· Video tutorial on how to add a YouTube video to your presentation

· After you have your PowerPoint made you will make a screencast. To make your screencast go to Screencast-o-matic.com

· Register to use Screencast-o-matic (it is free)

· Note: Allow and accept any Java pop-up windows

· Watch and review the Start Recording and other Help Videos

· Make your Screencast and choose the upload video to Screencast-o-matic (SOM)

· Once you have uploaded to SOM it will give you a URL to share (e.g., http://screencast-o-matic.com/watch/cIVQbJVjop)

· Upload your Screencast to the Assignments area for grading (Week 7 or 14 depending on whether you are enrolled in the 8 week or 16 week version of the class)

· Under the “Presentation” area of the Assignments link: In the Rich Text Editor (RTE), click the “Insert Link” icon C:\Users\Tricia\Pictures\My Pictures\APUS pictures\Hyperlink.jpg in the menu bar and paste the URL link to your Screencast presentation where prompted. Click “OK”. Lastly, click “Submit”.

· Upload your Prezi to the Forums area to present to your classmates (Week 8 or 16 depending on whether you are enrolled in the 8 week or 16 week version of the class)

· Post a reply thread using the name of your organism as the title of your post.

· In the Rich Text Editor (RTE), click the “Insert Link” icon C:\Users\Tricia\Pictures\My Pictures\APUS pictures\Hyperlink.jpg in the menu bar and paste the URL link to your Screencast presentation where prompted. Click “OK”. Lastly, click “Post Message”.
