PMM-200 Microsoft Project
Final Test Description:
The Final Test is designed to allow the student the opportunity to demonstrate comprehensive knowledge and skills learned by using a hands-on approach to create a solution to the instructor produced problem or scenario.
This is part 2 of the final project. This portion of the final will not be proctored. Complete the project and submit the as outlined in the directions.
Time Limit:
The Final Test should take the student 3 hours to complete.
Problem:
You have been hired by ACOT to set-up a new 100 seat computer lab. As the Project Manager, you are responsible for the installation of cabling, hardware, software, and training the new staff. This new lab must be functioning and opened by January 1, 2012.
Solution:
Create a project plan that has the following:
1. Eight Resources with one of them being you.
2. 3 Custom calendars displaying various non-working days
3. Hourly rates for your resources will range from $50 - $100 per hour. Only you will have an overtime rate that is double your regular rate.
4. Schedule a recurring staff meeting every Tuesday from 8AM to 11AM.
5. Main Task Headings will be Analysis, Design, Installation, Training, and Marketing.
6. Your sub-task will be as follows: Detail current status, Conduct needs analysis, Build request for Proposal, Gather vendor bids, Choose Vendor, Sign Contract, Install cabling, Install hardware, Install Software, Test System, Train ACOT Management/Staff, Train ACOT Students/Users, Promote new services to ACOT students.
7. Create at least one FS Dependency with a -2d lag.
8. Create at least one SS Dependency with a 50% lag.
9. Set the Status Date as 11/10/2011.
10. Set the Current Date as 11/1/2011.
11. Create the following constraints in your project: ASAP, FNLT, and MFO.
12. Set-up four milestones and a baseline.
13. Create one fixed-duration task.
14. Create a custom view.
15. Submit the created project file in one zip folder by uploading through ACOT eLearn.
