M2 ASSIGNMENT 2 2

Focal Question:

What are the psychological reasons that adolescents engage in self-harming behavior?

There are many factors involved in self-harm among adolescents. It is a problem in our society, and for some it is hard to understand why someone would do such a thing. However, the obvious reason for self-harming involves psychological factors. These include symptoms of depression, anxiety, borderline personality disorder, previous child abuse history, and many others. Sometimes teenagers do not want to take their lives; at times, they just do not want to feel. However, teenagers have committed suicide from self-harming; this paper will discuss the factors related to self-harming in adolescents.
