Week 2
QUESTION 1
(Give 2 different answer and 3 different examples)
We are studying factoring and radicals which are both done by reversing other processes.
To help understand this, choose a non-mathematical process that is familiar to you and sometimes needs to be carried out in reverse. Example: driving to work. The reverse is driving home. Describe the steps in the process and in its reverse process. Try to identify which steps in the reverse process correspond to which steps in the original process.
QUESTION 2
(Give 2 different answer and 3 different examples)
What differences are there between solving linear equations and solving nonlinear equations? Are there steps we use in solving that only work with one type of equation or the other?
