The Research Project
This writer will use the court room as a generic organization that he will use in his Final Project. A key factor that the writer will examine is the team members and the roles that they play. In addition, the writer will look into how the court room group operates. This is important because it will make it easier to establish the patterns as well as the behaviors of court workers and how they perform their work.
This writer will also look at the strengths and weaknesses of individuals working in the courtroom. This is essential in understanding how individuals are placed into their jobs and what makes them suited for their specific jobs. Furthermore, the writer will look at the factors that can enhance or inhibit courtroom work group productivity. This includes: all parties in the courtroom workgroup being focused more on the rules and justice rather than focusing on getting things done speedily. This will reduce the cases of criminals being set free due to lack of evidence and innocent people being convicted without concrete evidence, hence explaining why the writer strongly believes in the appeal system.
This writer will also examine the cases that are brought to court and how personal choices impacts on them. There are cases in the court system that are investigated, tried and dismissed on the basis of the personal choices of the courtroom work group who use discretion to make decisions. The writer feels that judges endure the overwhelming schedules and that the case backlog and the criminal justice funnel makes the pursuit of justice in the courtroom a daunting task (Schmalleger, 2011). This has become one of the biggest challenges in the criminal justice system today.
