FAQs:

Q: What should I do if I don't hear back from my group? Can I meet without them?

A: If you are not getting the replies you need, pick a day/time, email and let your group know that you need to know by the end of the day Tuesday (or Wednesday at the latest) if the time works for them, or you are going to schedule it anyway. Then schedule the web conference and send them the link and time and say you hope they can make it. You don't need to have everyone in your group attend, and you can also split your group in half for this assignment if you need to. The important thing is that you must communicate with each other!

Q: Can we just chat for our group online meeting?

A: No. You need to have a live, synchronous, group web conference with screen-share and voice. You can use YouTube/Google Hangout, or WebEx.

Q: What are we presenting and how do you use WebEx?

A: You are presenting your draft final project PowerPoint within 5-6 min for 2 minutes of feedback from your group. If you decide to use WebEx, these videos may help, and there are many more on YouTube:

Here is how to use WebEx .

Daniel Faherty

Project Proposal

Name of my Organization: Geographic Solutions

Location: Palm Harbor, Florida

Open 5 days a week from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Overview:

Geographic Solutions is a company that provides jobs listings to site like Indeed and Monster. They also run the database of job listings for WorkNet Pinellas. Their main mission is to provide unemployed people jobs for potential employment. This project will be based on helping the unemployed get employed by using the company’s resources to accurately database job listings for many different employment site. While this project will be aimed to help the unemployed, it will also be aimed to get better jobs to individuals that are underemployed.

The Opportunity:

My plan is to gather all the job openings that are in the state of Florida and database them in reference to their job title, date, description and location. I will upload the database to job sites like Indeed and Monster and any other site for overexposure. I will create a free guide that list interview tips and techniques, which will be giving to WorkNet Pinellas for anyone that comes in looking for a job. The job listings will be uploaded into WorkNet Pinellas database and an email will be sent out to everyone actively seeking a job through WorkNet. Upon all this, all database will be updated daily to make sure job listings are up-to-date. I will not be able to do this alone. I will have to partner will the internet researchers to help search for accurate job listings all over the state of Florida. This will require a lot of networking with other businesses to achieve the most accurate listings possible.

Audience Analysis:

The main audience will be the unemployed and anyone that is underemployed. The plan is to actively help them by cutting out a step in the job process, finding accurate job listings in their area. I also plan for WorkNet Pinellas to actively prepare these individuals for interviews after applying for job postings through their database. The overall goal is to help people become employed and more confident in their abilities to do so. I will work with the managers to make sure job listings are updated frequently for the success of this project.

Key Stakeholders:

There will be two main groups affected by this plan, the unemployed/underemployed and the businesses seeking employment. The businesses will gain by filling their gaps in their schedules and the unemployed/underemployed will gain by getting a job to make a living from. One other stakeholder to be affected by this project is Geographic Solutions. It will benefit them to actively search and help employ people around the state of Florida because it will impact the economy positively.
