Melina Angle is a 42-year old woman who came to counseling due to her bipolar disorder. Melina Angle was from middle family in California, United States. Her father was John Kennedy and Mother was Leona Angel who had two other children besides Melina Angel. The names of the other two children are Anderson and Michael Thomson and their family had to budget their wages and salaries in order to manage their expenses. She struggles more in her current life and her expressions are showing her critical current situation with bipolar disorder.

Melina stated that when she was 12, her father had got a promotion from his company as a business executive manager with the salary increase of $10000 and her mother also worked as reporter at Times Rock News Channel and she worked more to enable her family to survive than father did. Because her father had decided his own profession has more importance then his own family. At the same time, her mother has been able to manage their family properly by satisfying the needs of her children (Pearl S. Berman, 2009). She also said that after getting the promotion, her father had to adopt to the branch of his company which was in New York City. Hence, there was a situation that the whole family had to change their location to New York City.

Melina had stated that her brothers had also studied Management of Business Administration and both of them got jobs in New York City with high salary. Both her brothers were also having the intention of promoting their family innovatively and for that both had shown their effort and love for their family. When Melina Angel was at 25, she married her client whose name is Johnson from Times Rock News Channel. After her marriage, both Johnson and Melina Angel had decided to by their new house in New York City and they changed their place from where Melina Angel father’s house to their own new house.

In the beginning stages, the couple’s life was going smoothly and happily and after one year, their son was born whose name is Davidson. After that, her husband had decided to concentrate on enhancing both his profession and family. Johnson was a great in taking care of Melina Angel and Davidson. She mainly stated that that her husband had also contributed for fulfilling the needs of Melina Angel and Davidson. After they married, Melina Angel decided to become a housewife who will take of care her husband and her son perfectly. They had purchased whatever they need for moving their family smoothly. Melina Angel was affected by feeling high one moment and really down the next moment for no reason, when she was at 28 in New York City.

She reported her issues after getting the bipolar disorder diagnosed and she has experienced the signs of bipolar disorder which are sudden sadness, guilt, hopelessness, and anger, as well as being high. She said that she experienced many characteristic indicative of bipolar disorder and she includes her loss of interest in normally enjoyable activities of apathy and problem concentration. She also noted that the depressive personality disorder had affected her thinking, conduct and physical behavior in her life. After being affected by her bipolar disorder, she couldn’t achieve her life’s tasks and before experiencing their disease, she was having the tasks of finishing her MBA course from one University in New York Pearl (S. Berman, 2009).

She reported that she was with negative depressions of low respect, disturbed sleep patterns, restless sleep and loss of interest after experiencing this bipolar disorder disease. The benefit is that her family with her husband had provided more support in order to cope with her bipolar disorder. Then, her family had concentrated on providing treatment for her disorder.

As per the treatment for bipolar disorder treatment, she was treated with the mediations of antidepressants, anticonvulsants, and antipsychotics in order to try to control her onsets. By the application of bipolar disorder, she couldn’t recover completely and she is controlled from the existing stage of disorder. Also, she got some changes after applying medications for bipolar disorder. For her treatment, her parents had offered funds in the form of payment and provided more incentives in order to save her life with avoiding the disease of bipolar disorder.

This is a main issue that she told that she hadn’t provided any disturbance and torture to her family. She had done whatever she can do for her family. The essential one is that she couldn’t recover this much without getting support from family and husband. She also mentioned that her husband had contributed more in order to save her life without making any trouble to her (Michel Hersen, 2001). At the same time, she was very sad and because she couldn’t care her child Anderson during the period of depression or mental illness. In addition to that, she mentioned her negative issue that she can’t do the course of MBA due to the bipolar disorder. Finally, she concluded that her husband and family’s contributions overtake her negatives in her life.
