Research Category
The topic selected is stimulus learning. According to Terry (2009),”The CS is a neutral stimulus, but neutral only in the sense that it does not now elicit the same response as does the US” (p.52). Stimulus learning is important and is needed at times to help with various behaviors.
Research Topic
The topic selected is stimulus and unconditioned stimulus learning.
Research Questions
What is the difference between the two? What are the types of stimulus and unconditioned stimulus learning? Domjan (2005) states, “The unconditioned stimulus (US) elicits vigorous responding without any special prior training, or unconditionally” (p.179). Can a person learn without stimulus learning? How is stimulus learning used when trying to teach? Free recall is one option used when incorporating stimulus learning. According to Lehmann & Hasslehorn (2007), ”…children are capable of using cumulative rehearsal in an efficient way” (p. 1081). Why is both stimulus and unconditioned stimulus learning important? When is stimulus and unconditioned stimulus learning applicable? Who can benefit from stimulus and unconditioned stimulus learning?
Research Plan
The significance of my research question it to find the difference is of stimulus learning and unconditioned stimulus learning. When are the two useful and for situations they are used for. Sources will be found in Capella’s library, this would assists with answering questions that I may have. In my professional career, it is not now known what type of personnel I will be helping. And incase there is material that needs to be communicated. I need to know the various learning types. Many people learn based of stimulus and unconditioned stimulus learning and I will need to know how to communicate with these personnel.
Summary
Stimulus and unconditioned stimulus learning is used frequently and need to be studied to understand the importance of the both.
