Inferential Statistics and Findings
Inferential statistics methods are used to make inferences about an independent and dependent variable based on known descriptions. Inferential statistics allows researcher to measure behavior in samples to learn more about the behavior in populations that are often too large or inaccessible. In this week assignment, I will determine the appropriate statistical tool to test the hypothesis, and conduct a 95% confidence interval.
The team research question was H0: There is a relationship between customer experiences (DV) and returning customers (IV). H1: There is no relationship between customer experiences (DV) and returning customers (IV). The appropriate statistics tools to test hypothesis test utilized quantitative research as the research approach even though quantitative research is harder to start, it is easier to conduct the analysis and write the research because the highly structured. I will use the sample size formula to calculate sample size for a descriptive study in quantitative research. The formula of calculating the sample size is Ss = Sample size Z = Z value, which is 1.96 for 95% confidence level, p = percentage that is 0.5 used for sample size needed, and c = confidence interval as 0.05 = ±5 as a result [1.96((0.5) (1-0.5))] / 0.052= 384.16 (McClave, 2011).
Conclusion
I chose sampling size technique which is a non-probability sampling technique where the selects units to be sampled based on knowledge and professional judgment. The research showed that the experience each customer has influences the frequency in which the customers comes back to drink coffee. Under this sampling technique, the respondents are selected because they possess certain characteristics that the researcher wants to study. As a result, the data collected provide better understanding of customer point of view.
