Abstract
Throughout this paper I will be researching how to successfully plan a sport ministry program. I will research and discuss the correct ways and the incorrect ways to planning a sports ministry while also providing examples of success and failure. This paper will also include data and information that proves that the planning of sport ministry programs is the most important part to the creation of a new ministry.
Introduction
Sport ministry programs are incredibly popular in today’s society. Sports become more popular every day. God has called us a Christians to spread His Word to the world and what better way is there than to reach those that love sports. Throughout this paper I will explain, through research, the different ways to plan sport ministries successfully. I will also, through research, explain how sport ministry programs can affect people’s lives for the better introducing them to the Lord while also teaching them active ways to stay healthy and how to play sports with a great attitude and good sportsmanship.
Thesis
Sports are something that God has blessed us all with and it is our job to create ministries that teach all ages different sports while also spreading the gospel to people in need of their Savior, Jesus Christ.
Supporting Idea
Competition in today’s society is at an all time high. People enjoy competition and how it makes them feel winning while also learning from losing. Sports can mold a person of youth into the adult that they will be in the future. Stated by Faszil Ghazali in Ministry Proposes a Sports Act Muhyidden said, “A single regulatory body will come into being and disputes and problems can be referred to it, thus, creating a more positive approach in solving arguments”.
Second Supporting Idea
People can successfully work in sport ministry programs in the administrative department, as a coach, as a player, or as a referee. Mohd quotes, “A good education will be a great fulfillment as they will in turn contribute academically as sports administrators and those who are still capable, can perform as referees or coaches”. Education is very important in all of these areas in order to successfully created a sport ministry program that will be successful in reaching people.
Conclusion
Sport ministry programs can turn people’s lives around and make them a better person. It can teach them how to love to play sports and exercise. More importantly a ministry can help a person find their Savior in Jesus Christ and eventually help them to lead others to Christ. Ministry programs are very important as there is a lot of negativity in today’s society sports are something that can cheer people up when they are down as it provides excitement and exercise. It is very important that creators of sport ministry programs understand how important these ministries are and that they have the correct training and education to successfully plan out the ministry as a whole.
