PART I (75 points)

In collaboration with your Learning Team, complete the following:

Choose, with your assigned Learning Team, one of the following schools of Buddhism prior to Week 2, and sign up during the Week 2 class. This will require discussion and collaboration. Choose ONE school of Buddhism for the entire Learning Team.

· Theravada Buddhism

· Mahayana Buddhism

· Vajrayana Buddhism

· Zen Buddhism (as a special school of Mahayana Buddhism)

· Additional topics in Buddhism may be assigned if more teams are present

Research the chosen school of Buddhism using the course textbook, reserve readings, and any other resources supplied with this course. Do not use outside resources without first getting instructor approval.

Create a 10- to 12-minute, 10- to 15-slide Microsoft® PowerPoint® presentation with speaker notes. Speaker notes should be included in the "Notes" section of each slide, and should match the speaker notes submitted individually by each Learning Team member.

Address the following in your presentation:

· Briefly explain the basic teachings of Buddhism (use the textbook)

· Explain what makes the chosen school of Buddhism unique (you may use the textbook and additional resources as described above)

Include citations IN YOUR SLIDES for both information and images. Include a reference slide listing all resources for both information and images. Format citations and the reference slide consistent with APA guidelines. Submit the Buddhism Presentation. This should be done by the Team Leader or Administrator. Present the Buddhism Presentation in class with your Learning Team.
