Technology in the Criminal Justice System
The use of the technology in the criminal justice system has played a big role in combating crime in the society. There are various challenges that the criminal justice system face in the world of security. Currently, the technology has really swept all nations in the world and this has also become a challenge in maintaining of the security. Like other sectors including the private and the public sectors, the Criminal Justice system has taken a big step to ensure that all police agencies, correction institutions, court systems, Community groups and other institutions are well supplied with advance technological equipment. This wide step has been taken because as the world advance, people taking part in crime have also developed their new methods for carrying out their tasks. Government agencies have started to promise and also installing technological computerized systems in rural as well as urban regions.
This great change has lead to a massive impact in assessing crimes in various areas at the same time. As per now, the community groups can assess crimes from their close neighbors using advanced computerized systems. This has resulted to improved security in such areas and also reduced the deployment of public securities by the criminal justice system. The costs normally used to hire private securities as well as the public securities have been directed into other undertakings of the system. Personal trustees from the community have also been supplied with tools such as guns that they use to protect themselves from the crime as well as the rest. This has reduced the System’s surveillance on remote areas since they are able to work hand in hand with members from the community.
Another way that technology has reduced challenges in the criminal justice system is the introduction of bullet proofs. Use of bullet proofs by the police has motivated them to become more active in dealing with the offenders. The police have gained the courage to deal with robbers armed with weapons such as guns and used them to protect themselves from bullet injuries. The police have also been supplied with more technical weapons to help them fight the law offenders as well as defend themselves. This has largely aided the conduction of law and order and it is therefore it has favored the criminal justice system as well as the citizens.
Another major advantage of implementing technology in the criminal justice system is the drug testing Technology. This type of technology has been used in various sectors such as in police officers, airplane pilots, sportsmen and even prospective Directors. Many people under this system must undergo drug testing stage before they are recruited as well as during their performance. This has aided the system in creating a society where drugs are highly disregarded. The drug testing technology has really made a big fight against drug trafficking. These are the same technologies being used at the airports to determine drug traffickers. This method has also helped various Criminal Justice System departments to detect various drug addicts and victimize them. According to the research done (frequent users) use drugs more than once a week. This type of technology has enabled these departments to avoid false accusations on the suspects concerning the use and addiction to drugs. There are also future methods that the system is planning to use so as to detect the use of drugs among the youth. Such tests include hair tests, bioassays as well as the sweat patches .All of this will help obtain clear identity on methods that should be used to curd as well as solve drug addiction cases. According to the analysis done (Key Point), the research says that this kind of technology have been so useful to the system because it has enhanced the reduction of drugs, pro-social behaviors as well as reduction in crime.
Information and technology. The system has really put more concentration in the IT department so as to make investigations concerning suspicious people as well as places. By just a click of a mouse, police and other correction departments can seek a lot of information from the internet concerning a particular institution. Various crime departments can also get accessed to the criminal history of certain suspect more easily using the computerized system .Using the computerized system too, the system can be able to track the movements of offenders using electronic devices that they can monitor from their offices. These systems have also been provide to the community so as they can get the access to various crime maps for the sake of understanding and defining the crime patterns. Through this type of technology too, the criminal justice system will be also get through various databases in the computer system so as to learn and draw more information concerning the people under the investigation.
The technology of knowledge
Technology has been used by the system to impact knowledge on its members. The purpose for this is to make sure that the researched done towards a particular crime is well and full identified. This will help prevent false accusations that had initially taken dominance in the system previously. As a big institution in the world of justice, the criminal justice system has a goal to make its research under more defined scientific methods. Therefore the system is promoting the research demonstration projects, field experiments and tests that are majorly based ways of dealing with crime. All these interventions are meant to majorly break the cycle of violence as well as criminality. The main purpose of these researches on gaining knowledge is the one way that the system is using to challenge itself. It is challenging itself by mainly trying to test ideas in the complex field of the world.
In conclusion, the system is at the forefront in the revolution of technology so as to promote a crime free society. This great step stipulates all other technological advancement that other public as well as private sectors have undertaken. Each day the criminal justice system have worked on seeking more and more developed technology so as to bear prudence in the world of security.
