Research Paper on Criminal Justice System

The criminal justice system is an organization that is made up of government institutions that are greatly concerned with bringing social control in a country or even international level. Their main aim is to mitigate and deter crime cases (Stuntz, 2011). They normally sanction those who are involved in violating rules and legislations of the nation. They use diverse methods to curb violence in the society such as rehabilitating the offenders and also through penalties such as charges and jail sentences. These systems normally protect those accused of committing offences from abuse during investigations. It is the most recognized system in the world of justice that has really ensured that all rights of the offenders are followed and abided by. The system is made up of various institutions and each institution having its own role to play. The main goal of this system to ensure that there is reduction in crime by bringing more offences into justice. The reason for all this is to make sure that the law is enforced the bright way to protect all individuals and the society at all. It gives an assurance to all citizens that it is capable of bringing up a law abiding society.

However, apart from the good intentions that the system has in ensuring a criminal free society, it has some grievances that has lead to its failure at times. Rehabilitation being one of the ways to correct offenders, some sub- departments in the criminal justice system and in this case prison department have failed. They have turned out prisons as the place where prisoners go to be warehoused and not teaching them useful skills nor mentoring. This has lead to misuse of imprisonment because instead of prisoners been guided on how they can change their lives they have turned out to be worse. According to Billy Blaze (2010) have turned to be worse when they come out of prisons rather than becoming responsible people.

According to William (2010), there are a lot of prisoners serving long term sentences in jails for crime they did not commit. This is due poor seizure and investigations of the accused criminals. Others are imprisoned for no good reason such as drug addicts. According to Billy, (2010), no one should be taken to prison for being addicted to drugs. Another problem that has really infected this system that the law has been at many times politicized. According to the analysis (2011), there have cases whereby the mayors may appoint and move the police from one part of the town to the other without consent of the above Criminal Justice officials. This has majorly failed this system in its roles performance. There is also lack of uniformity among the courts especially when passing verdicts. For example one person may be arrested for committing murder and another one arrested for selling Marijuana but they are sentenced to 15 years imprisonment.

The system has thought of several solutions and amendments that will provide remedies to the highlighted grievances. The main purpose for these remedies is to create a situation in which corrections programs are handled with the highest levels of transparency and integrity. One of the key solutions is to implement System and program audits. In this perspective there is a thorough auditing of files that contain cases information. This step has ensured that different crime cases are run smoothly without biased information.

Another big step this organization has taken in ensuring Justice is through technical consulting and proper management of its lower institution. Through this, the System has been able to screen diverse cases and practices that are carried out in its smaller units. Besides this, (Key Point) has stated that there is also frequent remote lessons and training been conducted so as atom have qualified members that will be efficient in carrying out activities. Various compliance and investigative issues can get so complex at times and therefore to curb these complications, the Criminal Justice System has come up with more critical investigations that will avoid risk of false accusations especially the domestic cases. The system has introduced more law enforcement professionals and experts in bringing up their experience as well as their wisdom in the Criminal Justice services. This has transformed the law departments into international standards of prowess.

Another solution (Key Point) that has really played a vital role in mitigating the System’s problems is through introduction of Organization Criminal Justice System. This method has played a very key role in dealing with crime cases. Churches, Schools and other institutions are major targets by the Criminal Justice System. These institutions they are been used to mentor and train students to become responsible people in future. However these institutions and the community as a whole have been asked to play a social responsibility in collecting evidences, helping the organization in trial-related tasks as well as finishing history checks for the criminals.

In conclusion, the greatest transformation that the Criminal Justice system has initiated is through implementation of Organizational Criminal Justice System. According to the Omnibus Crime Control and Safe Streets Act (1968),there was in need to approach crime in more defined manner and this was to go through by improved coordination among courts, law enforcers, corrections agencies and the community at large.
