INSTRUCTIONS TO STUDENTS You will identify a new innovation or relevant current event on managing innovation, and explain how it illustrates a specific course topic. You will do this in a written report documenting your analysis & short PPT presentation to introduce to the class.
1. Find an article from the Wall Street Journal, Business Week, Fortune, Forbes, New York Times technology section, or any other major business paper or magazine that identifies a recent innovation or illustrates a concept in managing innovation you are interested in.
2. Read the appropriate chapter from the textbook. 3. Find additional articles to support your analysis. .
Task 1: Expand your research adding additional sources and prepare a written report that address:
Define your concept from class. Why is it important for managing innovation? What is the innovation or current event presented in the news? How does it illustrate the concept from class (include theory)? What strategic implications does this innovation or current event hold for the industry?
When writing your report, remember to use appropriate in-text citations (Thomas, 2014) and references at the end according to APA style. Citations and references should include your textbook as well as any additional articles and sources. Task 2: Prepare a PPT presentation (~ 3-4 slides), which will be introduced to class to see. It should introduce the class to your concept, introduce your current event, and communicate your analysis of how it relates to our class discussion.
