Next, about the Courtroom Observation Paper

[The Court Room Observation is 5-7 pages, not including Title page or Reference Page]

· Courtroom Observation Paper

· The student will observe a recorded presentation of a court in session. This can be found within the course Reading & Study folder. The student will then write a 5–7-page description of the proceedings.

· Start viewing the Courtroom Observation and read the Grudem book (only 83 pages) early

· The Courtroom observation is only nine 14-minute videos. Take notes from the observation and use the following four sections [legal sections] when you present your paper:

· (F) Facts: a short synopsis of the facts - 1 page max.

· (I) Issue: What is the court issue/legal issue that the two parties are presenting? One-half page max - See the example Issue in "red"

· (R) Ruling: In the video, you will hear what the law is regarding the alleged incident- (Dram Shop Act) and (Indiana Constructive knowledge and Actual Knowledge rulings). Briefly research it, briefly discuss it and cite it. One-half page max. See the example Ruling in "red."

· The example will have the proper Issue and Ruling already set for you - see the Courtroom example, in "red."

· (A) Application: You will be asked to take a side, Plaintiff or Defendant. So wrap the facts, the law or ruling around your analysis of why you chose either the Plaintiff or Defendant. But, also acknowledge you side's weaknesses and the other side's strengths. You are arguing for your side, as a lawyer, as an advocate, so argue your side and "prove" your case. Three-four pages max.

· (C) Conclusion: Bring your argument to a sound conclusion, very briefly recapping the Issue, Ruling and your analysis of the case. One-page max.

· Proper APA express citation format, proper Title page and proper Reference page.
