Lesson Plan of Microsoft Excel
Learners technology standards addressed:
(1) Candidates contribute to the development, communication, and implementation of a shared vision for the comprehensive use of technology to support a digital-age education for all students.
(2) Candidates design, develop, and implement technology-rich professional learning programs that model principles of adult learning and promote digital-age best practices in teaching, learning, and assessment.
Objectives
(1) learners will be able to create an Excel spreadsheet, focusing on ‘autosum’ tool.
(2) Learners will be able to use Excel ‘autosum’ feature to total columns that contain constants.
(3) Learners will be able to efficiently input information in MS Excel.
(4) Learners will understand will understand the importance of creating and maintaining a spreadsheet to manage numbers-related tasks.
(5) Learners will know the data input in Excel (columns, rows, cells), types of data (labels, constans, and formulas).
(6) Learners will be able to create different types of charts and diagrams.
Procedures
1:00 – 1:10 Discuss the objectives of this class.
1:10 – 1:20 Warm up by asking students what they know about Microsoft Excel and what is the value of this program and how is differ form other program.
1:20 – 1:35 Give the learners handout about some instruction of using Excel and divide them into two groups to create different charts and diagrams and discuss the different type of data while they are working.
1: 35 – 2:00 We will see the works of each group and discuss what are the problems they faced while they were doing their worksheet.
Assessment
By asking the learners to do their own worksheet.
