Revised Project Plan Assignment Deriving from your earlier Feasibility Proposal Report, this Revised Project Plan is also worth 15% of your course grade. It is due for 6:00pm, Tuesday, June 10/14.

Specifications Presume that your client has responded positively to your Feasibility Proposal Report, and has authorized you to move on to the next phase. Consequently, you must now, prepare a Revised Project Plan: a report of no more than five full pages, delineating the project design you envisage. You might want to again review the on-line article on Recommendation and Feasibility Reports at http://www.prismnet.com/~hcexres/textbook/feas.html, and Chapters 9, 11, and 12 of your textbook.

Particulars This assignment, too, has Assignment Particulars. Again, I refer you to page 4 of my Week 1 Posting for details. Here, then, are the five Written Assignment Particulars for this assignment. You will find reminders of them at the beginning of the Revised Project Plan Grading Sheet, available on the course website. 1. The total length of the assignment itself may not exceed five pages—do not use a cover page. 2. Its first page must be a transmittal letter (or memo, if “internal”) from you to your client. This page is not

numbered. (Recall that a transmittal letter or memo is simply a brief, standard business letter or memo. It does not include a heading such as “Transmittal Letter” or “Transmittal Memo”.

3. Your next page must bear the title you have chosen for your report, and should be page #1. 4. As with the Feasibility Proposal Report, do not follow APA style. Apart from the letterhead (or masthead)

that you create, your font should be 11- or 12-point, Garamond or Times New Roman, left-justified, single-space text. If you are using a letter, it should be standard block format. For details, see the file, Reading – Canadian Business Letter Formats.pdf on the course website.

5. Your report must include, exactly as indicated, the four headings below in the order shown. (The suggested content items under Discussion do not represent mandatory sub-headings; they are merely suggestions.)

• Background Referring explicitly to your Feasibility Proposal Report, briefly delineate the issue.

• Recommendations Briefly and concisely indicate the steps you now consider necessary for design and implementation. (Although I am not recommending its contents as a “template”, you may wish to consult http://www.ehow.com/how_5847636_write-recommendations-report.html.)

• Discussion Provide the details of your plan; include clear indications of important concerns, for example,

o Strengths and weaknesses of the existing system; o Design features of the intended system; o Specific benefits of the intended system o Specific costs of the intended system o Functional requirements (on the part of the users) o Reasonable timelines.

• Conclusion Provide a very brief synopsis and close with a request to begin implementation.
