Schools should be the best place where students can develop their creativity skills. In the article “ how schools kills’ creativity” Ken Robinson says” Picasso once said this—he said that all children are born artists, but the problem is to remain an artist as we grow up (2006). So schools are discouraging students to be creative while they are having decrease in their creativity skills. Everyone has his own interest of creativity. According to the same author in his transcript film “ how schools kills creativity”, every education system on earth has the same hierarchy of subjects. As he said “At the top are mathematics and language, then the humanities, and the bottom are the arts” (2006). I believe that’s the reason that decreases the amount of creativity skills in students. They should not force the students to focus on something they don’t really interested in. what about if students are more interest in arts than mathematics why they have to spend more time in mathematics than what they really need. Thus, the students would lose their creativity skills because they are learning something they don’t need to learn. Schools should divide the hierarchy of subjects on each student interests not on what they think is important for them. Everybody has specific interests so we cannot measure all students in one teaching style.

When I was a high school student in Saudi Arabia, I faced a hard time in learning something I don’t really want to learn. One point in my math class is equal six points in my art classes. However, I was interested more in learning art than math. In my first semester I got really bad score. In fact, my grade in the art and other classes were good. My math grade decreases a huge amount of my over all grades, which made my father got mad at me. Then, I decided to follow my father wish, which to get a high score. I believe that make me lose my creativity. I spent a lot of time in learning math. I increased my grade in math, but it was average. However, I feel I’m not really an art person anymore. Focusing on something that I don’t like made me lose my creativity skills in arts.
