POLITICAL SURVEY

A political survey conducted on the public of USA concerning the political circumstance in the Middle East, they tried to get answers; between Democratic governments, even though there exists little stability in the place or stable governments, even though there exists less democracy in the area?

The political poll was conducted through interviews done by Princeton Survey Research Associates International through 2,003 phone interviews. This means that it was 2,003 people who took part in this political research. The interview was conducted on adults where 1001 respondents were interrogated using a landline phone, and 1002 respondents through cell phones, 524 who did not have a landline telephone were also interviewed. According to the research done they found out that;

· 28% of the respondents support the Democratic governments, even though there is minimum stability in the area.

· 63% of the respondents interviewed support the stable governments, though there is minimum democracy in the area.

· 9% of those who took part in the research did not know where they stood or rather they refused to give their opinion.

These results of the survey could be used to enlighten companies on the mode of management that they should apply in running their companies. Since most of the citizens think that U.S is indulging into other peoples affairs and instead they would wish if they would get into their affairs. With a high number of people supporting stable governments rather than democracy it is a sign that they are losing faith in their form of government. This has resulted into decline of global power and prestige. Their focus in solving other nation’s crisis has led to the public losing faith in their government. These results can give a company the overview on how they should run their industries in terms of the executive hierarchy and how to maintain transparency between employees and the management.

GENERAL SURVEY

Satisfaction with direction of U.S

The research question was; generally, are you contented or not with how things are being run in the United States currently? The data collected by Gallup poll was done through phone interviews which took place in May 8-11, 2012, a random sample of 1,028 adults were chosen, of above 18 years of age, from all the 50 U.S. states and Columbia district.

As a result of the research it was seen that only

· 25% of the republicans were satisfied with the way things are being run in the country, while

· 74% expressed their dissatisfaction with the way things are going on in the states

Over the past years Americans satisfactions with the way things are being run has remained flat, but in October 2013 the rate went down up to 16% this was during the time when federal government was shutdown. The survey results can be applicable in the telling a story on what is the main causes of frustrations among the republicans and the democrats. They (results) can be of help to a media group in a manner that they can focus on the dissatisfaction of the republicans and democrats and they may dig dip to know the main issue. With this they may approach the government and express the grievances of the people and through this the government will get to know the areas that call for improvement.

OVERVIEW

Sampling forms the main foundation of all research and, if accurately conducted, should give relevant and valid data. There are several factors that sample size depends on:

Size of the population- The number of people your sample represents. In our first case it was on the current situation of Middle East concerning stable governments or democratic ones. In this research 2,003 respondents took part in the research. This was the sample size picked for the study. For the second general survey only 1,028 adults were picked to represent the population. Comparing the two, political survey had large number of respondents (sample size) than those of general survey (Frank 2001). Error rate is also a factor that affects the sample size- In the general survey the sampling margin error was _+4% and the confidence level was 95%.

From the above I think the most valid one was the sample picked for the Political Survey of 2,003 adults’ respondents. Reason being if the sample size is large there are few chances of making errors, but this does not assure to represent the target population accurately. Therefore for minimal errors large samples are recommended (Frank 2001).
