Paraphrase: It has been many years that schools and parents have been debating about school uniforms. They have gathered many books that do not prove that school uniforms are actually helpful for students safety. Then there is also many books that say uniforms increased gradation and attendance. This debate has been going for years and it looks like it will never be resolved. There is plenty of evidence of each side so that makes it harder for the schools to decide whether to keep uniforms or to band them. (Wilde,2014,p.1)

Quotation: According to Wilde (2014) "noting the perceived benefit that uniforms conferred upon catholic schools decided to adopt a school uniform policy". Which means that uniforms were adopted by how catholic schools dressed. Schools wanted to be more proper and sophisticated. Schools wanted students to be more controlled. They figured why mot use a uniform like a catholic school. (Marian Wilde, p.2)

Summary: Overall, the debates about the school uniforms are never to stop. Researchers have proved, that are actually better. They have improved attendance, gradation and suspension rates. Although uniforms do not improve with academic improvement because of different reasons. It is important to value the fact that uniforms do bring disciplinary control in the school environment. The school can do other things to improve academic performances, but students still have higher gradation rates with uniforms then without. (Wilde,2014,p.3)

Each citation is used differently. It all depends on how the information needs to be stated. A paraphrase is stating your own words what the author is trying to say. A quotation is using the authors own words, but then explaining what the author is trying to say. A summary is basically summarizing the authors information or the authors point. It is all the information gathered up and concluded. All these citations are used in different ways. A quotation can be used when there needs to be actual facts and the actual sayings to prove what the author is saying. A paraphrase and a summary are very similar because you use your owns words. The difference is that a paraphrase you restate what the author is saying to provide information to an essay. The summary can be used when there just needs to be a wrap up of the information. These all can be used in an essay or research paper.
