PowerPoint Chapters 1-3 Assignment
Project Description: Custom PowerPoint 2013 Grader Project: "Aquatics", by Diana Friedman & Scott McLeod
Instructions: For the purpose of grading the project you are required to perform the following tasks: Step Instructions Points Possible 1 Start PowerPoint. Download and open the file named go_p123_grader_Aquatics.pptx. If you are asked, choose to "enable content". This presentation contains 3 slides. Note it is recommended that you save your work as you progress through the steps of this project. 0.000 2 Display slide 2 (Summer Fun). To this slide’s content area (below the title), insert the picture go_p123_grader_swimming.png (from your downloaded grader files.) Apply the “Rotated, White” picture style to this picture of the swimmer (3rd row, 3rd column in the list of picture styles). 6.000 3 Display slide 3 (Swim Pass Fee Schedule). At this point you are going to insert slides from an existing presentation. To do so, open the Reuse Slides pane, and then browse for and display the presentation go_p123_grader_additional_slides.pptx (from the previous downloaded grader files). Make sure that the “Keep source formatting” check box is cleared and then insert all 4 slides into your existing presentation. Close the Reuse Slides pane. (Note that missing slides, extra slides, or out of order slides can cause significant point loss, so make sure this step and other ones that affect slide sequencing are followed carefully before continuing on.) 8.000 4 To your entire 7 slide presentation, apply the “Droplet” theme (3rd row, 4th column in the list of "Office" themes). Then apply the blue colored variant (third from left). 6.000 5 Display slide 2 (Summer Fun). Change the slide layout to “Panoramic Picture with Caption”. 5.000 6 From slide sorter view, delete slide 3 (Swim Pass Fee Schedule). Then move slide 4 (Aquatic Center Passes), to the end of the presentation. Return to normal view. 6.000 7 Display slide 5 (Summer Aquatics in Pacifica Bay!). Insert a new slide using the "Title and Content" layout. Enter the title WHY USE OASIS AQUATIC CENTER? Then in the content area, carefully add the bulleted text as shown below. (Note that each line below should have its own bullet and that this slide's text can be typed in uppercase or lowercase but it will always display in uppercase due to the font setting of the theme.) SWIM LESSONS DIVING LESSONS LEARN THE SWAN DIVE FUN FOR THE WHOLE FAMILY 5.000 8 Still on slide 6 (Why Use Oasis Aquatic Center?), increase the list level of the third bullet (Learn the swan dive). Then select all bulleted text and change the bullets to “Arrow Bullets”. 5.000 9 Apply the “Peel Off” transition to all slides (from within the "Exciting" group of transitions). 3.000 10 Display slide 5 (Summer Aquatics in Pacifica Bay!). Under the title, insert a text box. Adjust the size of the text box to 0.64” high by 5” wide. (It should end up roughly centered under the title.) Type the text Can you see yourself here? into the text box. Change the font-size of this text to 32pt. 6.000 11 Still on slide 5 (Summer Aquatics in Pacifica Bay!), between the text box and the picture, insert a “Right Arrow” shape (first arrow under Block Arrows group). The arrow should begin just to the right of the text box and end underneath the swimmer in the picture. Adjust the size to 3” wide and 0.25” high. 6.000 12 Display slide 1 (Title slide). Select the text “Oasis Aquatic Center” and apply the WordArt Style “Fill - Blue, Accent 1, Shadow” (1st row, 2nd column in the list of WordArt styles). 4.000 13 Still on slide 1 (Title slide), format that slide’s background to have a texture fill of “Water droplets” (1st row, last column in the list of textures). Close the Format Background panel. 4.000 14 Display slide 7 (Aquatic Center Passes). Select all of the bulleted text (all text below the title). Convert this selected text to SmartArt by applying the “Staggered Process” layout (7th row, 3rd column within the “Process” group of SmartArt layouts). Then change the SmartArt style to “Cartoon” (1st row, 3rd column within the “3-D” group of SmartArt styles). 6.000 15 Display slide 2 (Summer Fun). To the title text, add the animation entrance effect of “Wipe”. To the picture, add the animation entrance effect of “Dissolve In” (from the “More Entrance Effects” option). Lastly, with the picture selected, from within the “Timing” group, set the animation timing “Start” option to “With Previous”. (This should cause the title and the picture to animate differently but simultaneously when the slide show is run. You can check this by using the "preview" feature on the left end of the Animation toolbar.) 8.000 16 Display slide 3 (Training Video). In the content area of the slide (below the title), insert the video “go_p123_grader_butterfly.wmv” (from your downloaded grader files). With the video selected, apply the video style “Simple Frame, Black” (1st row, 5th column within the list of video styles). 6.000 17 Display slide 4 (Summer Swim Schedule). In the content area of the slide (below the title), insert a 3 column by 2 row table. Then type the information below into the rows and columns of the inserted table (including one space before the "am" and "pm"): Monday Wednesday Friday 6-10 am 7-11 am 3-6 pm 8.000 18 Still on slide 4 (Summer Swim Schedule), apply the “Themed Style 1 – Accent 2” style to the table (1st row, 3rd column in the list of table styles). Then align the table’s text so that it is centered both horizontally and vertically within the cells. 3.000 19 Insert a slide footer that includes the footer text Oasis Aquatic Center and includes the slide number. Apply this footer to all slides except the title slide. 5.000 20 Before submitting your presentation, double check your work as follows. Go to slide sorter view and then compare your slides to the slides shown in the downloaded grader file, “go_p123_grader_solution.pdf”. In addition to checking each slide's content, you should also address any missing slides, extra slides, or slides out of order. You should also view your slide show from the beginning to check that the transitions and animation entrance effects are working as expected. Make any changes as needed. Save and close the document. Exit PowerPoint. Submit the file as directed. After the project has been graded, note that the grader's feedback is available in "Summary Report" or "Live Comments" formats, but not available in "Marked Up Report" format. 0.000 Total Points 100.000
