1. Describe three psychological practices that are no longer being used in the treatment of abnormal psychology. Explain why these practices were discontinued. Describe a practice that is currently being used to treat abnormal behavior. Explain why this practice is an acceptable treatment.(200 word minimum response at least)
2. Two of the models of the psychological perspective that explain abnormal behavior are the psychodynamic model and the behaviorist model. Choose one of these models and describe the key components of the model, the contributions of the scientist(s) associated with the model, and the support and critiques of the theory. In your own words, describe why you think this model best identifies the causes of abnormal behavior, or explain why you think another model (psychodynamic, behaviorist, humanistic and cognitive) better identifies the cause of abnormal behavior.
Your essay should be at least 500 words in length and include an introduction, a body, and a conclusion. You are required to use at least your textbook as source material for your response. You must also use one outside source. All sources used, including the textbook, must be referenced; paraphrased and quoted material must have accompanying citations.

3. A German psychiatrist, Emil Kraepelin, was the first theorist to create a classification system for abnormal behavior. His early work was instrumental in the creation of the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders, otherwise known as the DSM. Discuss what you think are the pros and cons of using the DSM system. Are there ethical issues or cultural factors that could impact a diagnosis? Use specific examples in your discussion.
