Essay Prompts

1. Comprehension: Identify the two works of art you chose. Provide a brief overview of each work: name of artist, name of work, period/date, location or origin, medium, and/or size.

2. Analysis: Briefly analyze work 1: In one body paragraph, complete the following:

a. Craft a topic sentence that functions as the “idea” behind this work. It is understood that you may not yet have fully developed the “main idea” for your paper, which is still evolving.

b. Support your topic sentence with your personal observations, thoughts, and reflections on the work and what it reveals about the time period in which it was created.

3. Analysis: Briefly analyze work 2: In one body paragraph, complete the following:

Format

Each essay response must be a minimum of one paragraph, with double spacing, 12-point Times New Roman font, 1-inch margins, and at least one citation. Citations must use APA or MLA format; refer to the Course Resources area for citation resources and tools.
