. Website analysis Directions: You will be given a list of mathematics web sites to review and then will be asked to find some on your own. Then you will have to write a critical analysis of sites. This assignment must be typed and will be turned in on Course Compass. I will show you how and where to submit the assignment. It will be due by the last week of class. You will choose six websites look at them and write your comments—would you use them in class for presentation? If you find a site you do not like –that is okay also—it is good to know about sites that are not legit and not helpful. You cannot use http://nlvm.usu.edu/ or another illuminations as your other choices. Example of format—should be a short paragraph about 8 sentences for each one. Start with listing the web site. “http://www.mathgoodies.com/lessons/vol4/challenge_vol4.html I think this website could be useful.. blah de de blah de blah blah blah de blah de… “ This is a writing assignment and it will be graded as such. SO you will review a total of six sites—you can use six from here or three from here and three you find on your own. All websites must deal with elementary school mathematics topics. http://nlvm.usu.edu/ http://www.math.wichita.edu/history/topics/num-sys.html http://mathforum.org/alejandre/numerals.html http://www.cut-the-knot.org/blue/Abacus.shtml http://www.gap-system.org/~history/Indexes/HistoryTopics.html http://www.yourdictionary.com/crossword/romanums.html http://www.convertit.com/Go/convertIt/calculators/Math/Roman_Numerals_Co nverter.ASP www.novaroma.org/via_romana/numbers.html http://www.ehow.com/how_4621167_base-number-any-other-base.html http://www.metacafe.com/watch/891715/math_trick_for_your_fingers_easy _multiplication/ http://www.brainboxx.co.uk/A4_RESOURCE/pages/Maths/MultiMagic.htm http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YL3PtlxYkZ4&feature=related (he is a tad monotone!!
