Independent Project 2-6 Kathy Sung, Director of Services at Life's Animal Shelter (LAS), will talk to a luncheon group of business people to explain the important work of LAS and to solicit financial support. For this project you develop the presentation she will use to explain the needs of LAS and describe ways people can contribute through donations or by volunteering their time.

When you are finished with this project, your presentation should contain 7 slides. If it does not, your project

will not grade properly and you may lose a significant number of points

1. Open the presentation YouCanHelp-02 start file.

NOTE: If the document opens in Protected View, click the Enable Editing button in the Message Bar

at the top of the document so you can modify it.

2. The file will be renamed automatically to include your name. Change the project file name if directed to

do so by your instructor, and save it.

3. On slide 1, change the title text fill to Dark Red, Accent 1, Darker 25%. Apply the Bevel text

effect of Angle.

4. Change the font size to 80 pts. and resize the placeholder on the right so one word is on each line.

5. Use the Insert Pictures dialog box to search for three pictures from Office.com and insert them on slides.

Type the search word dog. If you cannot find

the pictures listed below, insert picture of your

choice.

a. On slide 1, add the picture of a German

Shepherd dog with a white background.

b. On slide 2, add the picture of three boys

with a dog on grass.

c. On slide 3, add the picture of a Golden

Retriever dog with a white background.

6. On slide 1, adjust the picture. a. Increase the picture size (height 5.9" and

width 4.7").

b. Use Set Transparent Color to remove the

white area in the picture.

c. Position the dog picture as shown in

Figure 2-135.

7. On slide 2, adjust the picture.

a. Decrease the picture size

(height 5.84" and width 8").

b. Apply the Moderate Frame, Black

picture style.

c. Center the picture horizontally and position it

near the top of the slide.

8. Insert a text box below the picture. Type the

following text on two lines within the text box,

pressing Enter after the first line:

Our operating funds come through

donations and pet adoption fees.

a. Change the text to White, Background 1 and

font size to 20 pts.

b. Change the Shape Outline to White,

Background 1 and the Weight to 3 pts.

c. Change the Shape Fill to Black, Text 1.

d. Center the text box horizontally below the

picture (Figure 2-136).

9. On slide 3, adjust the picture.

a. Use Set Transparent Color to remove the white

area in the picture.

b. Increase the picture size (height 5.23" and

width 6").

c. Position the picture as shown in Figure 2-137.

10. Select the slide 2 thumbnail and press Ctrl+C to

copy it.

a. Put your insertion point after slide 3 and press

Ctrl+V to paste the copied slide.

11. Make changes to the new slide 4.

a. In the text box, replace the text with the words

b. Resize the text box to fit the text and center it

horizontally under the picture.

c. Select the picture and click the Color button.

d. In the Recolor group click the Orange, Accent

color 2, Dark option (Figure 2-138).

12. On slide 5, convert the list to a Vertical Bullet List

SmartArt graphic.

a. Increase the SmartArt frame height to 4.7" so

the text size increases.

b. Reduce the width to 9".

c. Center the SmartArt horizontally.

d. Apply the Cartoon SmartArt style as displayed in

Figure 2-139.

13. On slide 6, convert the list to a Picture Lineup

SmartArt graphic. Click the Picture icon on each

shape to open the Insert Pictures dialog box.

Browse to locate the resource files and insert the

following pictures going from left to right

(Figure 2-140):

1 DayCare-02

2 CountryStroll-02

3 RoyalTreatment-02

4 Food-02

5 Groom-02

Each picture is automatically resized to fit the

SmartArt shape where it is inserted.

14. After slide 6, insert a new slide with a Title and

Content layout.

a. Type the title Items We Need

b. Insert a table with 3 columns and 5 rows.

c. Type the table text shown in Figure 2-141.

d. Increase the font size to 20 pts.

e. Adjust column width so each column fits the longest line of text.

f. Center the table on the slide.

15. Apply the Gallery transition to all slides.

16. Save and close the presentation (Figure 2-142).

17. Upload and save

your project file.

18. Submit project

for grading.
