Independent Project 1-6 At the Hendersonville Civic Center, workshops are given for the community to address fitness, health, and wellness issues. For this project, you develop a presentation for an upcoming series about helping families become more active.

Skills Covered in This Project  Create a new presentation using a theme.

 Change case.

 Reuse slides from another presentation.

 Check spelling.

 Change theme colors.

 Change theme fonts.

 Rearrange slides.

 Insert a picture.

 Adjust placeholders.

 Insert a footer.

 Apply transitions.

 Change presentation properties.

 Save a presentation.

When you are finished with this project, your presentation should contain 6 slides. If it does not, your project

will not grade properly and you may lose a significant number of points.

1. Open the PP2013-IndependentProject-1-6 start file and apply the Retrospect theme and

Green variant.

NOTE: If the document opens in Protected View, click the Enable Editing button in the Message

Bar at the top of the document so you can modify it.

2. The file will be renamed automatically to include your name. Change the project file name if directed

to do so by your instructor, and save it.

3. On slide 1, type the following text:

Title Pedestrian Safety Matters

Subtitle Keeping that new year’s resolution to be more active

4. Select the subtitle text and change the case to Capitalize Each Word.

5. Click the New Slide list arrow and select Reuse Slides.

a. On the Reuse Slides pane, click Browse. Select Browse file and locate the resources file

PedestrianSafety-01(downloaded from the Resources link). Click Open.

NOTE: Download the resource file(s) needed for this project from the Resources link. Make sure

to extract the file(s) after downloading the resources zipped folder.

b. On the Reuse Slides pane, click all slides to insert them.

c. Close the Reuse Slides pane.

6. Click the Spelling button [Review tab, Proofing group] and correct any spelling errors.

7. Click View, then Slide Master, and change theme colors and fonts.

a. Change the colors to Yellow Orange and the background style to Style 6.

b. Change the font to Arial Black-Arial (the font pairs are not listed in alphabetical order).

c. Click Close Master View.

8. Adjust slide order to match

the sequence shown in

Figure 1-111.

9. On slide 1, insert a picture

and resize the

placeholders. a. Insert the picture

b. Change the picture

height to 7.5" and align

it to the slide on the

top right.

c. Adjust the size of the

title and subtitle

placeholders so the text wraps as shown in Figure 1-112.

10. On slide 2, put your insertion point in front of the word “Guard” and press Enter.

11. Add a footer to all slides except the title slide.

a. Click the Header and Footer button.

b. On the Slide tab, select Slide number

and Footer.

c. In the Footer text box, type Pedestrian

d. Select Don’t show on title slide.

e. Click the Apply to All button.

12. On slide 6, insert a picture and resize the

placeholder.

downloaded from the Resources link.

b. Change the picture height to 7.5" and

align it to the slide on the top right.

13. Apply one transition to all slides.

a. In Slide Sorter view, select all the slides.

b. Select the Push transition and apply the From Right effect option.

14. Preview the transitions in Slide Show view.

15. Change these presentation properties using the Document Properties panel.

18. Upload and save your project file.

19. Submit project for grading.
