Read “Clinical Case Management” by Joel Kanter. The article is posted to “Doc Sharing”. Write and submit a paper (not less than 1000 words, not including any front matter or references), discussing all of these topics: (1) a key issue in the history of case management; (2) two key components in the case management knowledge base; (3) one key practical issue in case management; and (4) what you learned from the Case Study presented by Kanter. Your paper must include five citations (references) in APA format.
You will submit the Week One Assignment to the Week 1 DropBox which utilizes Turnitin. The Week One Assignment is due Sunday, May 11, 10:45PM. No late assignments will be accepted. No exceptions. Late work will receive a grade of “zero”.
The Week One Assignment must be in MS Word or PDF format. It is the student’s responsibility to ensure that (1) their document was in fact successfully uploaded to the DropBox and (2) their uploaded document is openable in MS Word or PDF format. If either of these requirements is not fulfilled by the submission deadline, no credit will be received by the student for this assignment.
The required font is either Times New Roman (12-point) or Century Schoolbook (12-point). Assignments that are submitted in a font other than Times New Roman (12-point) or Century Schoolbook (12-point) will receive an automatic 3-point deduction.
Grading will be based on the substantive aspects and clarity of the paper and whether the student has demonstrated the ability to write critically and analytically. 20 points: Exceeds expectations for undergraduate level understanding and analysis. Additional sources provided reflect student's broader comprehension of what can be learned from the article. The style and format of the paper conforms precisely to APA standards. 16 points: Meets expectations for undergraduate level understanding and analysis of the article. Paper reflects comprehension of the article and what can be learned from it. Some minor APA format errors. 12 points: Paper submitted, but little analysis included in the content. Content Includes mostly a description of the article, and little reflection how the article relates to a broader understanding of case management concepts and theories. Many APA format errors. 8 points: Paper submitted, but meets only minimal levels of acceptance. Does not include all parts of the required assignment. Does not use APA format. 0 points: Paper not submitted.

Students found plagiarizing are subject to the penalties outlined in the Policies and Procedures section of the University Catalog, which may include a failing grade for the work in question or for the entire course. If your Week One Assignment has a Turnitin similarity score of greater than 25%, you will have 24 hours to revise and resubmit your paper. No resubmitted papers will be accepted after Monday, May 12, 10:45PM. No exceptions. Late work will receive a grade of “zero”. Papers with Turnitin similarity scores of greater than 25% will receive a grade of “zero”.
Dropbox Submission Procedures
To submit to the Dropbox, click on the Dropbox tab at the top of this course content frame. Click on the Submit an Assignment link. Choose the Dropbox Basket titled Week One Homework Assignment. Click the "Add Attachments" button to browse for the assignment document on your computer that you would like to submit. After attaching this document, you may add comments to your instructor in the Comments field if you wish, then click the "Submit" button.
You cannot make changes to a submitted item, but you can submit additional information or attachments.
