1. A real world that I see myself encounter is by taking my hourly wage to see what my gross income will be for the month. For example, $14.00 hourly for 40 hours a week. I would multiply $14.00 by 40 hours. 14 * 40 = 560 (weekly). I would take 560 and multiply it how many weeks there are in the current month, I will be using 4. 560 * 4 = 2,240 (monthly).

This website gives people a video tutorial of decimals and uses every day real world situations for examples. I really enjoy this site because it goes over different math problems than just decimals. I love to watch videos of how to solve problems because it makes me feel like I’m actually sitting inside a classroom watching  and listening to the teacher explain how to solve the problems that are being covered.

As a database administrator and also as a production analyst, I use simple and complex math all the time. Unfortunately, I user more complex math than anything. I do a lot of conversions of space on my databases and a lot of time you have to check the space that you have in order to complete a database backup. The space comes up in the form of Megabytes. As a administrator you always look at things in terabyte or gigabytes. There is a very useful converter that I use online located at the following sites that makes the conversion easy:   http://www.convertunits.com/from/MB/to/GB    As far as simple math, I use that in the grocery store and retail stores all the time. I am a serial shopper and I"m always checking the paper for sales and cutting coupons. Say you have a coupon for $1.00 off on Nivea body wash. Walmart is having a sale for Nivea body wash 2 for $2.00. If you have two of those $1.00 off coupons, you can purchase that body wash for free.
