1. THE SOURCE
How long is your source? 3 pages

Write a complete APA reference for your source:
John, G., Jeffrey, L. & Mark, G. (December/January, 2008). Protect the food supply chain.
Retrieved from http://www.foodquality.com/details/article/814619/Protect_the_Food_Supply_Chain.html?tzcheck=1
2. SUMMARY OF THE SOURCE
This article talks about the state of food safety for the past one year and according to the article the state was not good. It explains that there was a number of high profile recalls traced to tainted imports of ingredients and seafood that was contaminated. Domestically produced vegetables and ground beef was contaminated by the e coli bacteria. Consumer items that had been imported such as toothpaste and toys were recalled.
These food recalls were linked to quality and safety problems in the supply chain and the attention of the media was focused mostly on the international supply. Despite imported food offering benefits to both the processor and the consumer, the global supply chain adds complexity to the already existing food logistics, quality and safety.
