Introduction

Coca Cola Company is a multinational firm that is also the largest soft drink producing company in the world. The company specializes at the production of soft drinks for example coke, Fanta, sprit, energy drinks, and many more. Moreover, the company’s brand name is “coke” and the same is very well recognized among many people all over the world. The most important thing about this company is that it has over the years managed to withstand competition pressure especially from Pepsi Cola, which has been the main competitor over the years and the currently as well. The success of this company can be attributed to a number of strategies and mechanisms put in place with regards to marketing, personnel administration, market entry, economic viability, and competitive advantage. This paper is going to discuss about the company in general putting more emphasis on the success and the strategies put in place to ensure that the company continues to dominate in the industry.

Thesis statement

Coca Cola Company is a multinational corporation that attributes its success to a number of factors. The most important of all is the issue of marketing, which can be termed as the secret to the company’s success.

· Describe the nature of the organization (Provide the industry Goods/services, Position in the industry, and Brief history of the company)

To start with, it is important to note that Coca Cola Company is firm that operates in the beverage industry. On the other hand, the company produces syrups and non-alcoholic beverage concentrates. Therefore, the company basically deals in the production of soft drinks that can be consumed by all and sundry. Regarding the position it takes in the industry, it is worth acknowledging the fact that the organization is the reigning corporation in the beverage industry. This is to say that the firm is the top in the market amongst existing stiff competition from rival firms. Regarding the brief industry of the company, Coca Cola Company it should be noted that the brand name, coca Cola, was established in the year 1886 by Stith Pemberton John, who happened to a pharmacist in Georgia. In this case, the company’s brand name and formula were bought in 1889 by Griggs Asa Candler, who later incorporated the organization to Coca Cola Company in the year 1892. Ever since it was incorporated to the aforementioned, Coca Cola Company has continued to operate a system of franchised distribution (Guiltinan 1996).

· Identify the significant management personnel.

In this case, the company has got two senior most and important personnel in the organization. The first one is Muhtar Kent, who happens to be the chief executive officer and the chairman of the company. The latter is one who formulates the key policies and guidelines that help the company to operate in a more desirable manner. Secondly we have the executive vice president, Ahmet Bozer, who acts as the second-in-command for the organization. These two personnel have really given the company the image that it has currently and their efforts are in association with other employees in the lower cadre whose role cannot be taken for granted. In addition, the company is divided into marketing, international relations, legal, corporate governance, research and development among others. Al of these have got personnel running them and ensuring that the company attains a unanimous success and prosperity. Therefore, these employees too deserve credit for the job well done (Garton et al 1997).

· The specific area of the business that I will look at

It should be noted that Coca Cola Company has received success because of the effective marketing strategy put in place. This marketing strategy involves a lot of factors that have been factored in to ensure that the firm attains the current success. Therefore, the marketing strategy will be my main area of focus in this discussion. In this case, it is worth noting that the firm has really invested in marketing and promotion, which is why it has employed in a modernized and popular way of communicating to potential customers globally. The same involves using international and remarkable icons in the sports and music arena for the purpose of marketing the firm’s products. In addition, the company has adopted the availability approach, which entails reaching far and wide with its products. In this regard, the coca cola beverages are made available even to the most interior sections of the world. This part of the marketing strategy that has earned the firm commendable prospects. On the other hand, the company has invested in the social media to broadcast its products and the result has been overwhelming. Therefore, the marketing strategy can be said to be the top reason for the company’s success.

· Discuss the business strategy

Coca Cola Company has a number of strategies that have contributed to its best performance in the industry. The first one is marketing and in this case the company has capitalized on using social community platform for promotion purposes. In addition, the company has also invested in international celebrities to market its brand name and promote its corporate image worldwide. The other significant strategy is the production of non-alcoholic beverages that can be consumed by the young and old, men and women and also the sick. This is to say that everyone can consume these products as they are not restrictive like alcoholic drinks for instance. Moreover, the affordability nature of the coca cola products has made it possible for all members of the social class to afford the same. In this case, prices are consumer friendly hence not too expensive (Alessia et al 2012).

In conclusion, it can be said that the Coca Cola Company has been successful and will remain on the same note thanks to the effective marketing strategy that has been efficiently put in place by the top management. This marketing strategy involves a lot of factors that have been factored in to ensure that the firm attains the current success. Therefore, the marketing strategy will be my main area of focus in this discussion. In this case, it is worth noting that the firm has really invested in marketing and promotion, which is why it has employed in a modernized and popular way of communicating to potential customers globally. In this case, for continued success and prosperity, the company should step up its marketing strategy by enhancing it further as well as focusing on any other relevant area that could be enhanced for posterity.
