Peer Interview Real World Paper
Peer real world interview.
It was so amazing to interview my classmates and share the ideas.as it was my first experience, it was really good way to intergrade and develop my understanding of Advanced auditing class.
My first interview was with Daniel Ramos .he is very educated and ambitious. He is working on his second master degree and works on clothes project. He is native Colorado .also work for CTU as online instructor.
His purpose to finish second master was to expand his horizon and discover more about accounting and willing to be forensic auditor. Auditing means a lot to him and educates him on the proper internal controls.
He stated that organizing the audit will first, meet the audit team. Second, conduct a risk assessment process and organizational structure. Third, put the team together and assign responsibility. Fourth, determine which audit strategy to use: substantive or reliance. Fifth, perform test of controls by using attribute sampling. Sixth, deliver report and that was tight to chapter 3 and 4 in the text.
What are the obstacles you could face doing an audit in your job? Making Type I or Type II errors and getting sued. From your experience could you give me a real example of an audit that so unusual? None what is the most interesting part you like when you do an audit? Uncovering fraud! How do you deal with your clients if they are unfriendly and unhelpful? Resign
My second interview was with Julie Welles and she is a Mother. She is am doing a work study through CTU at USA Shooting as assistant to the controller. Her experience in accounting only one year. Her major at CTU is MSc in accounting.
Her motivation for the MSc is to become and an auditor and CPA, she has never worked as auditor in her entire life and that could be an obstacle learning about an auditing. She is really interested to be an auditor and admires the advanced auditing course and its text.
Her idea about auditing in organizing the audit is to follow the employer’s standard and after learning of this course she will be more knowledgeable how the audit will be.
While auditing she can face some obstacles and her concerns was about that is the management attitude towards being audited and that could lead to uncooperative and unhelpful.
It was hard for her to have an idea about a real example of an audit as she has no audit background but she likes to find about uncovering fraud like what happened to Enron.
Her most interesting part of an actual audit reconstructing the client’s financial records.
If the clients are not helpful she will try to convince them how the audit is necessary.
She has to come to USA as her parents would like her to have higher education and experience the world, back home they don’t have MSc degree in her country.
She feels she wants to be an accountant as being an auditor is not safe.
This course she learned about the audit process and ethics
Her goal to be an an accountant
